Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

It's Been So Long

News:

-Wow, it has been more than a month since I made a journal entry. :( I have been so busy getting things done for a deadline a week ago. It was hell, believe me. Recently I decided to start taking a black and white photography class locally. I started that this week. It seems cool so far except everyone is being treated as if they are three years old and never touched a camera before. I am assured we will get past that soon. I have never really used a darkroom much so I am looking forward to that. Anyway, that means you will be seeing some neat b&w shots from me in the future.

-Thanksgiving was alright. I ate a lot of food at lunch and passed out for 5 hours or something so I managed to miss being with most of the guests at my parents' house, where I was.

-naturelle seems to have thoroughly died. I wish I had the time to keep it up and no one wants to help me with it so I guess it will just sit dead for a while.

-snow is starting to come. This means that I am syked. I really want to hit the slopes again. :)

-I hoppe to put some updates up when I get my most recent roll of film developed or sooner :)

-take care all! I need to get back to doing work around my house.
