layer_embeddedSo what's new? Well, I came back around 2am this morning from New Orleans. I was traveling and waiting in airports for around 14 hours yesterday. It was pretty bad. But on to more important things. New Orleans was fantastic. I can't believe it was just so much fun. I swear I ate more than I have eaten in a month in those 5 days. I was at the Preservation Hall 3 out of my 4 nights there. It was absolutely amazing. The jazz that these people put out blew my mind.
I toured around a bit such as through the devastated areas. New Orleans is still in shambles nearly a year later. The outer areas where the storm hit the hardest are descimated. I have never seen anything like it - block after block after block of ripped apart homes. They don't even have a dependable trash crew in the area yet, much less medical resources and schools. I would recomend to anyone who asked to go down there though. It is a sight to be seen. No matter your background it will touch your heart. The stories that people tell are the worst. The people there can use all the help you can give them. They had their entire lives wrenched away from them in just a couple days.
I took pictures throughout the city, my tours, and at preservation hall. I have taken more shots in the last five days than I have in the last 2 months. I can't wait to post a whole bunch of them.
I am going to Maine in a couple days for a couple weeks so I am unsure as to how I will post these but I will try to keep my computer up and running up there. I may have access to a laptop there so that would be great. Well anyway I hope you all are having a great summer and such, but don't forget those in New Orleans.
